This rumour is confirmed true
and is of low priority
– here's why:
According to the Local council (LC1) an announcement has been made to all people including members of the host communities to take control of their animals from marauding the farms. According to him the statement was made in churches, market centers and in the community meetings stating that any one who will not control his or her animal will risk the animal arrested and charged amount of money equivalent to the damages. So the arresting of the animals was not only targeting animals belonging to the refugee but including those that belongs to the host committee in line with what was agreed in the meeting.
The refugee welfare council (RWC1) and the village leader for ofua 3 confirmed the meeting was held and they were invited based on the concerns raised by the owners of the farms that the animals are destroying there crops.
